LOBBY LUNCH:
One of the ladies in the church wanted to offer hospitality to some of the folk who visit in search of care, a listening ear, and a bite to eat. Clearly inviting strangers home could lead to difficulties, so the idea of homely hospitality offered in the lobby of the church, with home cooking, a warm welcome, a listening ear, and no charge, was born. At our Westbourne Grove building visitors range from tourists and local residents to those in temporary, or without, accomodation. Many of our visitors have become friends, whether they choose to attend our meetings or not.

Lobby Lunch happens on the first Saturday in every month (except January and August).

WORSHIP AND PRAYER EVENINGS:
Sometimes there is more opportunity to stretch out, and be creative in prayer by taking a longer period, so sometimes we organise evenings or half nights of prayer or worship. These can take very creative forms, in fact there is a
whole movement of creative arts in worship developing around the UK.

OUTINGS / EVENTS:
Members of the church organise joint outings, to places of general interest. Past trips have included the London Eye, Hatfield House, Chatsworth. Joint trips to films, bowling, and camping in Savernake Forest in Wiltshire are regular occurences, as are the many parties, barbeques, The Ice Cream and Cheesecake competitions! and other events that occur through the year, also community meals and trips to the park together. A novelty in 2003, courtesy of Jenn was Chocolate Chess, and Port evening. And yes, we did indeed have chess sets made entirely of chocolate, and eat them ! In the summer some members of the church usually go to a
church camp, and brave the weather under canvas to hear international Christian speakers, and worship with a wider group of Christians.
From time to time small groups go away for a weekend "retreat" to spend more time praying, worshipping and meditating.

SPECIAL INTEREST:
Church members sometimes organise events or activities based around their personal skills. Artists in the church run the front tower rooms as a gallery space. See her website on the links page. There are several musicians in the church involved in writing and recording music. Laura has completed an MA in Jewellery and works with a local jewellery project in Peru. Chris' book on the Christian message, Epidemic Of Life, was published in 2000, and led to a round of book signing and radio interviews.
