DIMITRIS TSOURIS
Research into his Greek roots and belief in eastern Orthodoxy ultimately led Tsouris to an exploration of the image of the traditional icon, its symbolism and traditions.
The application of paint and colour signifies that while Tsouris wishes to retain the surety and foundation of Orthodoxy, there is the purpose of making a modern relevance into the 21st century. Broad sweeps of colour and loose, almost receding figurative style give a contemporary feel.
